The Atypical Family K-Drama Gives Update on Jang Ki-Yong’s Character Details

JTBC‘s one of the most-awaited upcoming K-dramas, The Atypical Family, has been buzzing among the viewers. The Atypical Family, or Although I’m Not a Hero, is a drama about a family that possesses superpowers. However, things start to become dysfunctional when the family gets diagnosed with modern-day diseases and mental illnesses. But a mysterious woman, Do Da-Hae, might become the key to a change for the Bok family.

While the audience is quite excited about the upcoming drama, JTBC has shared a new set of pictures of Jang Ki-Yong. He will play Bok Gwi-Joo in the series. The images give a glimpse into his character.

The Atypical Family K-drama drops details on Jang Ki-Yong’s character

Jang Ki-Yong will be seen as Bok Gwi-Joo in the drama The Atypical Family. He has the superpower to travel back in time and cherish the happy moments. But, in the picture shared on JTBC, Gwi-Joo exudes sad expressions. In the first photo, Bok Gwi-Joo is in a military suit, while in the second image, he looks gloomy and flustered.

Along with the pictures, the caption reads (originally in Korean), “A natural life firefighter with a strong sense of mission is back in the state. Return of sad empty eyes? What’s the story of him who was happy and became a sad time traveler?”

Bok Gwi-Joo can no longer travel back to the happy times due to his depression. However, the mysterious character, Do Da-Hae (Chun Woo-Hee), knows every secret of the Bok family. When she approaches the family and intervenes, will the family get back their superpower? The drama will answer every question. Directed by Cho Hyun-Tak and penned by Joo Hwa-Mi, this series will talk about mental illnesses and societal challenges.
