tvN K-Drama Rating: Queen of Tears Beats Goblin

tvN’s K-drama Queen of Tears has already surpassed Goblin’s viewership rating, charting second place on the list. Starring Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won in the lead, the drama is buzzing a lot among the audience. The storyline revolves around a married couple, Hong Hae-In (Ji-Won) and Baek Hyun-Woo. While Hae-In is the chaebol heiress of the Queens Group, Hyun-Woo (Soo-Hyun) is the legal director of the same company.

Since the series premiere, every episode has left the audience asking for more. Hae-In is diagnosed with a rare case of a tumor in her brain. She has only a few months to live. On the other hand, the Queens Group and the family are attacked by Yoon Eun-Sung and his mother. Spoilers ahead: Hong Man-Dae, who was diagnosed with vascular dementia, commits suicide after getting caught by Moh Seul-Hee regarding his consciousness.

Queen of Tears fails to beat Crash Landing on You rating

According to Isplus.com and Nielsen Korea, Queen of Tears’ 12th episode has garnered a 20.7% rating nationwide from paid households. It crossed Goblin’s 20.5% viewership rating, leading to the second position in tvN’s history of successful K-dramas. Goblin, starring Gong Yoo, Kim Go-Eun, and Lee Dong-Wook, was in the second position before Kim Soo-Hyun’s drama.

However, Queen of Tears has yet to surpass Crash Landing on You‘s record. The Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin starrer has collected a 21.7% rating since its premiere. But Kim Ji-Won and Kim Soo-Hyun’s drama still has four episodes left. The series has the potential to surpass Crash Landing on You’s record and become tvN’s leading drama.

Queen of Tears began with a 5.9% rating when it first aired. However, within four episodes, the number doubled to 13.0%. Slowly, the drama picked up its pace, and by episode 8, it recorded 16.1%. After the 10th episode, the drama collected 19.0%.

Don’t forget to watch the last leg of tvN’s weekend drama. Queen of Tears airs at 9:20 p.m. on tvN and Netflix.
