Netflix’s Parasyte: The Grey Trailer Trailer Teases Parasites Taking Over Humans

Netflix’s upcoming horror series Parasyte: The Grey released a brand-new trailer, teasing the central storyline about parasites taking over humans. The series is a live-action adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Japanese manga Parasyte. It will stream exclusively on Netflix, with its premiere on Friday, April 5, 2024. This unique take on the manga adaptation raises anticipation among viewers about the execution of the series.

Popular director Yeon Sang-Ho helms Parasyte: The Grey. He is known for the successful and critically acclaimed 2016 movie Train to Busan and the 2021 series Hellbound. While the upcoming Netflix series takes some elements of the manga into consideration, it is a completely original story set in South Korea. The newly released trailer documents gory but intriguing visuals about parasites controlling human bodies.

Parasyte: The Grey trailer: Parasites infect human hosts in the Netflix live-action horror series

The trailer for Parasyte: The Grey begins with an introduction to the storyline. An established team of humans infected with parasites talk about their one and only goal – to infect human bodies in order to survive. From then on, a number of parasitic humans take over the world and begin to infect human beings.

What’s interesting about these parasites is that they look, think, and act like humans and easily camouflage themselves among people. As they continue to spread their base in the world, humans come together to battle these forces. However, it isn’t easy, given how fast they infect humans, who spread it to others, forming a vicious circle.

One of the lead cast members is Jeon So-Nee, who plays Jung Soo-In. She is the central character, a human connected to the origins of mysterious parasites. In the trailer, she grapples with the parasites wreaking havoc in the world. By the end of the trailer, a fellow parasitic human calls her “different.” This could indicate that she is a hybrid battling between her human and parasitic identities.

Other cast members of the Netflix series include Koo Kyo-Hwan, who plays Seol Kang-Woo, a man looking for his sister. Lee Jung-Hyun plays Choi Joon-Kyung, part of an elite team designed to battle and hunt the parasites. Meanwhile, Kwon Hae-Hyo essays the role of Kim Chul-Min, who investigates cases related to these mysterious but dangerous parasites. Kim In-Kwon plays Kang Won-Seok, a police officer who helps Chul-Min.

To watch the journey unfold, don’t forget to watch Parasyte: The Grey on Friday, April 5, 2024, on Netflix.
