Apartment 404 Episode 2: Do the civilians successfully identify the four parents?

Episode 2 of Apartment 404 begins with an introduction to the case that the show’s cast has to solve in this episode. It is a case about a missing University student and illegal private tutoring. The case takes place in 1986. From the start, the show has split the cast into two teams. The first team includes Lee Jung-Ha, Yoo Jae-Suk, and Blackpink’s Jennie. The second team has Cha Tae-Hyun, Yang Se-Chan and Oh Na Ra.

In this 1986 case of episode 2, a university student goes missing. The student is a private tutor, Ms. Kim, hired by parents to tutor their children. However, as private tutoring was illegal in 1986, she wants to come clean to the authorities. But the parents keep her hidden and continue to blackmail and threaten her so that she does not go to the police.

At the beginning of episode 2 of Apartment 404, the cast gets a phone call. The caller instructs them to receive the call one by one. Then, the caller secretly reveals each of their identities. Four of them are parents, who have ordered illegal private tutoring for their children. The other two cast members are innocent civilians.

In Apartment 404 episode 2, the show’s cast first has to find the tutor, who has been missing. Then, the civilians among the cast have to identify the four parents. Meanwhile, the parents have to keep their identities hidden from the civilians.

The two teams play games throughout the episode and win clues to find the missing girl. By exploring and analyzing the clues they all finally find the missing girl. She has been hiding inside a room, that is hidden behind a cabinet door. Oh Na Ra has been a prime suspect from the start of episode 2 of Apartment 404. Soon, the cast finds out that Oh Na Ra, Yang Se-Chan, and Cha Tae-Hyun are parents. They also learn that Lee Jung-Ha is a civilian. It means the fourth parent is either Jennie or Yoo Jae-Suk.

Does Lee Jung-Ha correctly identify the fourth parent?

Towards the end of Apartment 404 episode 2, Lee Jung-Ha, an innocent civilian, has to identify the fourth parent between Yoo Jae-Suk and Jennie. If he successfully correctly identifies the parent, the civilians will win. However, if he fails to do so, the four parents will win.

Jennie and Yoo Jae-Suk try to convince Lee Jung-Ha that they are not the parents. Both of them have done something suspicious throughout the episode. Thus, it becomes hard for Lee Jung-Ha to identify the parent between them. However, at the end of the episode, he believes Jennie and chooses Yoo Jae-Suk as the fourth parent.

However, he is wrong, as Jennie is the fourth parent, and Yoo Jae-Suk is an innocent civilian. Therefore, Lee Jung-Ha fails to identify the fourth parent correctly. Thus, the group of four parents, which includes Oh Na Ra, Cha Tae-Hyun, Yang Se-Chan, and Jennie, becomes the winner in episode 2.
