Park Hyung-Sik K-Dramas List: Doctor Slump, The Heirs, Strong Girl Bong-Soon & More

Park Hyung-Sik is a popular South Korean actor and singer, well-known for his roles in many Korean dramas. He was previously part of the boy band ZE: A, a nine-member group, and made his debut in 2010. He then pursued his solo debut five years later. Soon, he delved into his acting career with smaller roles. Eventually, he earned recognition for his appearance in the immensely successful classic K-drama The Heirs (2013).

Since then, Park Hyung-Sik has been a part of many popular and critically acclaimed K-dramas, including High Society (2015), Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016), Strong Girl Bong-Soon (2017), and several others. He will be seen in the upcoming JTBC K-drama Doctor Slump, where the actor will reunite with his Heirs co-star Park Shin-Hye.

Doctor Slump

Doctor Slump is one of the much-awaited K-dramas of the year. It will premiere on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC. The series will also be available to stream on Netflix. It follows the story of two high school rivals, Yeo Jeong-Woo (Park Hyung-Sik) and Nam Ha-Neul (Park Shin-Hye). The duo reunite 14 years later during the worst time of their lives, only to build a friendship and gradually fall in love.

The Heirs

The Heirs is one of the most iconic K-dramas, which follows the story of a group of high school students. They must navigate their family’s social status and societal expectations to groom themselves as prospective heiress. Meanwhile, a conglomerate heir, Kim Tan (Lee Min-Ho), falls in love with Eun-Sang (Park Shin-Hye), who belongs to a completely different social background. Park Hyung-Sik played Jo Myung-Soo, the son of the largest law firm’s CEO. The actor earned immense recognition for his role in the series, which is available on Netflix and Viki.

Strong Girl Bong-Soon

Strong Girl Bong-Soon, also known as Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon, is a popular K-drama centered around a woman named Do Bong-Soon (Park Bo-Young), who is born with superhuman strength. She crosses paths with a video game company’s CEO, Ahn Min-Hyuk (Park Hyung-Sik), and the two gradually fall in love while navigating significant drama. The two became one of the most-loved couples in the K-drama scene. The series premiered on February 24, 2017, and is available to stream on Viki and Netflix.

High Society

High Society premiered on July 28, 2015, and follows the story of a woman from a chaebol family who hides her wealth and status and works part-time jobs to find a man who loves her for her personality rather than her wealth. The drama stars Uee as the chaebol’s daughter, Jang Yoon-Ha, and Sung Hoon as her lover, Choi Joon-Gi. Meanwhile, Park Hyung-Sik plays Joon-Gi’s boss, Yoo Chang-Soo, and Lim Ji-Yeon essays the role of his girlfriend, Lee Ji-Yi. The drama is available on Viki and Amazon Prime Video.

Happiness

Happiness is a fantasy action thriller K-drama that follows the story of special agent Yoon Sae-Bom (Han Hyo-Joo) and fellow detective Jung Yi-Hyun (Park Hyung-Sik). The duo gets entangled with a mysterious infectious disease that slowly spreads in the new high-rise apartment building where they reside. They battle for survival when the building is sealed off from the outside world in an effort to contain the spread of the disease. The drama premiered on November 5, 2021, and is available to stream on Netflix and Viki.

Soundtrack #1

Soundtrack #1 is a popular K-drama miniseries which premiered on March 23, 2022. It follows the story of two best friends, Lee Eun-Su (Han So-Hee) and Han Seon-Woo (Park Hyung-Sik), who have known each other for two decades. While living together, the duo battle the lines between friendship and romance while supporting each other’s personal and professional lives. The series is available to stream on Disney Plus and Apple TV+.

Park Hyung-Sik is also known for his roles in Suits, Our Blooming Youth, and Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth. He has also made many guest appearances and played supporting roles in many popular K-dramas.
