tvN recently released the Maestra: Strings of Truth episode 5 trailer. Starring Lee Young-Ae as Cha Se-Eum, the K-drama’s storyline explores orchestra conductor Se-Eum’s childhood trauma connected to Remington’s disease.
At the end of episode 4, Yoo Jeong-Jae (Lee Mu-Saeng) finds out why Se-Eum has always refused blood tests. He visits her mother’s nursery home and discovers she has Remington’s disease. His secretary says, “There’s a 50% chance of inheriting it. Your body slowly stiffens over time, and your memory starts to fade.” When Jeong-Jae mentions the medical term in front of Se-Eum, she becomes shock. The trailer of the upcoming episode teases the orchestra conductor’s past trauma about the disease.

Maestra: Strings of Truth episode 5 begins with Cha Se-Eum (Lee Young-Ae) shouting while defending herself. She asks what new will happen if she gets tested and finds out that she also has Remington’s disease.
A flashback shows Se-Eum’s mother being violent towards her. Earlier, in episode 4, she became aggressive and mentions that she should have killed Se-Eum as a child. It appears Le Young-Ae’s character is traumatized by her mother and her disease.
The trailer also shows Lee A-Jin (Lee Si-Won) accusing Se-Eum of her accident. In the previous episode, viewers saw the two ladies’ cars crash. The detective said that someone tampered with A-Jin’s brakes. Initially, Kim Phil thought A-Jin intentionally tried to harm Se-Eum, but the upcoming episode’s preview hints at him being suspicious of his wife.
Meanwhile, Phil doesn’t want to divorce Se-Eum despite A-Jin being pregnant with his child. The trailer ends with another argument between Se-Eum and Jeong-Jae. She says, “You shouldn’t have crossed the line if you really wanted my forgiveness.”
Maestra: Strings of Truth episode 5 will be released on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 9:20 p.m. KST on tvN. It will also be available for streaming on Disney Plus and Hulu.
