Single’s Inferno 3 Episode 1 Recap & Spoilers: A Shocking Twist Leaves Lee Gwan-Hee Alone

The much-awaited Korean reality series Single’s Inferno returned with its Season 3 on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 5 p.m. KST on Netflix. The dating show features eligible singles, who are ready to mingle with fellow potential suitors. The contestants look for love on a deserted island called the Inferno. They participate in a variety of challenges, and the winners get an opportunity to spend time with their chosen partner in Paradise.

Owing to the success of the previous two seasons, Single’s Inferno returned for a third season. Only this time, the show decided to pull out all stops to make the premiere episode as exciting as possible with the introduction of new twists. Popular basketball player Lee Gwan-Hee, who plays a guard for LG Sakers, was all alone in Paradise when the show required his connection, Choi Hye-Seon, to meet with another man. Meanwhile, the new twist also revealed that, instead of one, there will be two Infernos with two different sets of contestants.

Single’s Inferno 3 Episode 1: Lee Gwan-Hee loses time with Choi Hye-Seon over a new twist

The premiere episode of Single’s Inferno introduced viewers to the eligible singles, all set to find love and a potential partner throughout the course of the season. The contestants are Kim Gyu-Ri, Choi Hye-Seon, Choi Min-Woo, Lee Jin-Seok, An Min-Young, and Lee Gwan-Hee, in order of their appearance to Inferno. In the previous seasons, the newly introduced contestants had some time to get to know each other. However, things have changed in Season 3.

As soon as the singles sat down to have some food, the narrator announced that they had to choose partners and head to Paradise immediately if they were matched. The contestants wrote down their names on their tickets to Paradise and handed them over to their match, unlike previous seasons where they called out their names.

Choi Hye-Seon, 26, is a Life Sciences Student at Ewha Women’s University in Korea. She matched with Lee Gwan-Hee, 26, a guard for LG Sakers in the Korean Basketball League. Meanwhile, An Min-Young, 26, a Pilates instructor, matched with Lee Jin-Seok, 36, a cafe owner. They revealed their identities while spending time with each other in Paradise. Both couples spent quality time in the pool and while dining.

Choi Min-Woo and Kim Gyu-Ri grew closer over at the Inferno. Their identities were unknown as they had not been to Paradise yet. The hosts, Hong Jin-Kyung, Lee Da-Hee, Kyuhyun, Hanhae, and Dex, felt that the matched singles were already behaving like couples until they heard the next shocking twist. The following morning, Gwan-Hee and Hye-Seon were having breakfast when they heard an announcement. The latter had to leave Paradise without Gwan-Hee. She had to head back to Inferno with another single waiting for her.

Gwan-Hee was left all alone in Paradise when Hye-Seon met another bachelor downstairs. The man knew nothing about where to go or what to do. But he mentioned that he met four other singles at Inferno. However, neither of them had met each other. This proved that there were, in fact, two Infernos. Viewers were introduced to the first one in Episode 1 with 6 singles. The other Inferno had five singles, including three men and two women.
