Song Kang is gearing up for the release of the Netflix horror apocalyptic series Sweet Home 2 on December 1, 2023. According to OSEN’s report, Song Kang has announced that this series will be his last project before he enlists in the military. The news outlet shared a photo and described that the actor made the announcement during the November 30, 2023, conference.
It looks like viewers will be seeing Song Kang a lot by the end of this year. Ahead of his appearance in Sweet Home 2, the actor stars in the new SBS drama My Demon with Kim Yoo-Jung. Although his roles in both dramas are entirely different, Song Kang has taken up some creative and challenging roles before taking a break and enlisting in the military.

In the earlier mentioned photo, Song Kang holds a mic and announces his enlistment while fellow Sweet Home 2 cast member Lee Jin-Wook comforts him. The cast is seen smiling as they get ready for the Netflix series to reach viewers. Owing to the immense success and popularity of the first season three years ago, Sweet Home 2 is back bigger than ever. In season 1, the cast was inside Green Home Apartments, but this time, they battle monsters out in the new world.
Cast members of Sweet Home 2 include Song Kang, Lee Jin-Wook, Lee Si-Young, Ko Min-Si, Jin Young, Yu Oh-Seong, Oh Jung-Se, Kim Moo-Yeol, Kim Si-A, Park Gyu-Young, and others. Not only does the season provide a larger setting but it also includes complex storylines and intricately developed characters.
In an interview with Star News, Song Kang said that he understood and was grateful for the love and support the cast received for season 1 of the series. This motivated him to work even harder for Sweet Home 2.
Speaking about adapting to the theme and his character in the series, he said, “I felt more attracted to the genre. I was of the opinion that it would be nice for Hyunsoo to become more mature ahead of filming, so I thought a lot about that. I have a very playful personality, but I tried to live like Hyunsoo in my daily life.”
