The new revenge K-drama The Escape of the Seven will return with episode 17 on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 10 p.m. KST on SBS. Joo Dong-Min directs the series, whose script has been written by Kim Soon-Ok. It stars Um Ki-Joon as Matthew Lee, the successful owner of a mobile platform company. It also features Lee Joon as Min Do-Hyuk, the long-lost biological son of the Chairman Shim of Sungchan Group.
In episode 16, Min Do-Hyuk was able to secretly capture Mathew and La-Hui confronting each other. The confrontation led to the revelation of Matthew’s real identity, which is Shim Joon-Seok, aka K. Meanwhile, Do-Hyuk makes the video viral.
However, when he was asked about the authenticity of the viral video by reporters, he didn’t hesitate to lie. The episode ended with him exclaiming that the video was fake. He stated that it was created by Shim Jun-Seok to tarnish his reputation.
Thus, it seems the finale episode of The Escape of the Seven will put its focus on Shim Joon-Seok or K and the reason behind his attempts to hide his true identity.
Will K’s identity be revealed in The Escape of the Seven finale?
Followers of The Escape of the Seven eagerly await the upcoming finale episode. As Matthew Lee’s true identity was revealed to the media through the viral video in the previous episodes, it seems Shim Joon-Seok or K’s identity will finally be disclosed to the public. As such, it means that the web of crimes that he has woven over time will also be revealed.
Undoubtedly, Chairman Shim is expected to play a huge role in revealing all the dark truths behind K’s identity. Although he went into coma in the previous episode, he is expected to regain consciousness at the hospital.
