Director Sangeeth Sivan Passes Away After Suffering a Cardiac Arrest

The Indian film industry mourns the loss of one of its most celebrated filmmakers, Sangeeth Sivan. The director passed away at the age of 65 following a cardiac arrest on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. His brother, Santosh Sivan, also a prominent filmmaker, confirmed the news.

Riteish Deshmukh, who started his career under Sivan’s direction, shared his grief on social media. “Deeply saddened and shocked to know that Sangeeth Sivan Sir is no more. As a newcomer all you want is someone to believe in you and take a chance… can’t thank him enough for Kya Kool Hai Hum & Apna Sapna Money Money. Soft spoken, gentle and a wonderful human being. Am heartbroken today, my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, his wife, kids, brothers. I will miss you Da !!!!! And your infectious laughter!!! Rest in Glory….”

Sunny Deol, who also worked with Sivan in Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, expressed his shock and sorrow on social media. “Shocked to hear about the passing away of my dear friend @sangeethsivan, can’t believe that you are no longer amongst us, but you will always be with us in our hearts and memories. Om Shanti my friend, may your family get the strength to overcome your loss,” wrote Sunny Deol.

Furthermore, Ektaa Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor, who also worked closely with Sivan, shared their condolences on social media. Also, director Hansal Mehta retweeted Riteish Deshmukh’s tweet and expressed his shock.
