Tamil star Kamal Haasan has several movies lined up in his kitty. After reprising his decades-old role of Senapathy in Indian 2, the actor will be seen in a new avatar in Thug Life. The movie marks a reunion of Haasan and celebrated filmmaker Mani Ratnam. After unveiling the movie’s poster last year, it has again grabbed headlines for its star cast. The question that has arisen amid many rumors is whether Dulquer Salmaan is a part of Thug Life or not.
Along with the movie’s announcement, it was revealed that it is a star-studded flick. Dulquer Salmaan, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha Krishnan were roped in to play key roles. However, about a month ago, a report claimed that the Kurup star had walked away from the project due to scheduling issues. Moreover, the report added that Silambarasan TR has replaced him.
Now, as the movie’s cast returned to the headlines, DT Next claimed that Dulquer Salmaan is back in the movie. With his return, the report alleged that the makers have a different role for Silambarasan. However, some sources close to the development have seemingly debunked these claims.
Dulquer Salmaan has a number of projects in the pipeline. He will be soon seen in Lucky Bhaskar, Suriya’s Puranaanooru, and the Netflix web series Guns & Gulaabs Season 2.
Dulquer Salmaan to star in Thug Life?
The news outlet Pinkvilla’s reliable source has claimed that Dulquer Salamaan has not returned to the upcoming movie. The source further mentioned that the Ponniyin Selvan star Jayam Ravi also has some pending projects. Therefore, he has also allegedly backed out of the movie.
Amid the many claims, an official confirmation from the makers of Thug Life is awaited. While Ratnam serves as the movie’s director, Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies are generously bankrolling it.
