Manjummel Boys Telugu Dub Sets New Record

The latest Malayalam survival drama, Manjummel Boys, has become a huge success among the Telugu-speaking audience. Following its dream run in Malayalam, the movie was dubbed in Telugu and released in the theaters on April 6. Since then, it has begun to create history. The first-day ticket sales for the dubbed version came out to be record-shattering. Here are all the details.

Chidambaram’s directorial Manjummel Boys is a survival drama based on true events. The movie follows the story of a band of young men from Kerala who visit the infamous Guna Caves, also known as the Devil’s Kitchen. The incident took place in 2006 when one of the boys fell into the caves. To save their friend, the group made several attempts but failed. However, one of them went the extra mile and brought out his friend safely and soundly.

Manjummel Boys becomes first Telugu dubbed Malayalam movie to sell record tickets on day 1

Mythri Movie Makers are among the distribution companies that brought Manjummel Boys to the Telugu-speaking audience. As per the production company’s Instagram page, the movie’s first-day ticket sales skyrocketed.

The movie has now become the first Telugu-dubbed Malayalam movie to sell 34.47k tickets on its opening day. Moreover, these are only the tickets that were sold on the platform BookMyShow.

Sharing the news, the production company wrote, “Boys started their outing with an ALL TIME RECORD.”

As a result, the number of shows for the movie was increased. With the extra shows, the box office numbers for the Telugu dub version doubled on Day 2. Another post from the company reads, “ManjummelBoys are being loved in the Telugu States. Extra shows are being added in multiplexes all over. Day 2 is seeing double the numbers of Day 1 at the box office.”

According to a report by OTTplay, the movie minted a whopping $168k on its Day 2. Manjummel Boys achieved these numbers despite facing competition from Vijay Deverakonda’s Family Star.
