Premalu, the latest Malayalam romantic drama, continues its impressive box office run with a worldwide collection of $10 million. The rom-com drama features Naslen and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, along with Shyam Mohan, Sangeeth Prathap, and Akhila Bhargavan in supporting roles. Additionally, Girish A.D. has directed the movie under the Bhavana Studios banner. Premalu follows the story of Sachin, who has just graduated and is seeking job opportunities. The story turns unexpectedly when he finds himself between two potential partners, leading to amusing complications.
In a recent interview with Film Companion, director Girish expressed his views on Premalu. He said, “I wanted to make films after watching the works of Selvaraghan sir. There might not be an obvious relation between the kind of films that I do but I know a few connections that are woven into my work. These are things I tend to know more than others.”
When is Premalu releasing on OTT?
Since its theatrical release, numerous reports have indicated that Premalu will make its digital debut in March 2024. However, makers have recently addressed this rumor and announced that the digital debut won’t happen anytime soon. Furthermore, they requested that the audience enjoy the movie in cinemas. However, following the usual trend, the movie has to make its digital debut after 45-50 days following its theatrical run. Thus, as per the makers, the audience will have to wait longer than expected to enjoy Premalu from the comfort of their homes.
For those unaware, today, on March 8, 2024, the makers have released Premalu’s Telugu version in theaters. Moreover, as per 123telugu, the Telugu version is being released by SS Karthikey, son of SS Rajamouli. After experiencing the first show, Telugu fans praised the film and predicted that the movie would hit the $12 million (100 Crore) club by the weekend.
