Ajay Devgn is preparing to put his game face on in his upcoming movie, Maidaan. The actor recently unveiled its teaser and official trailer release date. Amit Ravindernath Sharma directed the movie, while Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla produced it. It also stars Priyamani, Rudranil Ghosh and Gajraj Rao.
Maidaan is presented by Zee Studios & Bayview Projects in association with Fresh Lime Films. It is scheduled for a theatrical release around Eid in April 2024. The biographical sports drama revolves around the life and journey of a legendary Indian football coach, Syed Abdul Rahim. He is known to have revolutionised the sport in the country.

Ajay Devgn’s football mastery takes centre stage in Maidaan’s teaser
On March 6, 2024, the makers of Maidaan dropped a teaser for the movie, revealing its official trailer’s release date. They captioned the post with, “Aajao Maidaan mein! We’re ready to present the incredible true story of the golden era of Indian Football.”
The teaser opens with children playing football in the rain, all barefoot and in the streets. The ball finds its way to Ajay Devgn, who is seen in an all-grey attire while watching the match. He kicks the ball back to the children despite being covered by the moving tramp.
Furthermore, the clip concludes with Ajay saying, “Aaj Maidaan mein utarna gyarah lekin dikhna ek (today, when you step out on the field, you should be 11 in number but look like one).”
The movie captures the challenges, sacrifices, and moments where Rahim and the Indian football team overcame societal obstacles and etched their names in history.
In 2020, producer Boney Kapoor had to dismantle the movie set due to the Covid 19 imposed lockdown. Also, in May 2021, the filming was again put on hold after Cyclone Tauktae destroyed the set. However, it is all set to hit the theatres soon.
