Baby John is produced by Priya Atlee, Jyoti Deshpande, and Murad Khetani and directed by A Kaleeswaran. Famed filmmaker Atlee is presenting this movie in collaboration with Jio Studios and Cine1 Studios. Atlee previously achieved box-office success in Bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. The film was initially titled VD18. It also features Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles, with Jackie Shroff and Rajpal Yadav providing strong support. S Thaman is the mastermind behind the film’s musical score.

Atlee’s Baby John: Varun Dhawan shares intense first look

The promotional video was shared today by Varun Dhawan on his Instagram account. It presents a striking image. The actor is seen seated majestically on a throne reminiscent of the iconic Game of Thrones, surrounded by traditional dancers. He is also seen holding a bird and sporting an intense, angry look. As a result, it can be expected that Varun Dhawan’s new film hints at a powerful narrative filled with action and drama.

This project also marks a significant step in Atlee’s career, who, inspired by his experience working with Shah Rukh Khan, has expanded his horizons into production. In a conversation with The Indian Express, Atlee expressed his gratitude towards Shah Rukh Khan for inspiring him in both acting and production. “I have learnt the craft from spending four years with him. Now, I have started producing films here (Bollywood). I already produced a couple of films in the south, and now I have started producing all over — producing two in Tamil, two in Telugu, two in Hindi,” Atlee shared.

Atlee’s original Tamil film Theri, starring Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Amy Jackson, was not only a critical success but also a commercial hit. It emerged as the second highest-grossing Tamil film of 2016.
