HanuMan has come out to be one of the biggest blockbusters of 2024 so far. The movie is receiving a lot of love from the audience for its unique plotline. It has given India another fictitious superhero in all its glory. While the film stars Teja Sajja in the lead role, Prasanth Varma had plans to cast another actor. It was none other than Kantara fame Rishab Shetty.
Prasanth Varma has created his cinematic universe with HanuMan. The director is now focusing on the movie’s sequel, Jai Hanuman, and its pre-production has already begun. The first installment follows the story of a young man named Hanumanthu, who gains the superpowers of Lord Hanuman. He uses his extraordinary abilities to protect his village.
Why did Rishab Shetty reject HanuMan?
HanuMan is indeed having a dream run in theaters and minting millions at the box office. As per Pinkvilla, Prasanth Varma recently admitted to offering Kantara’s actor and director, Rishab Shetty, an important role in the film. Varma revealed that he asked the actor to play Vibhishan in the film. However, the actor had to reject the offer because he was working on his record-breaking film Kantara at that time.
But, Rishab Shetty was still positive about Prasanth Varma’s work. He allegedly expressed his wish to work in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. Ultimately, Samuthirkani played Vibhishan in the film.
Rishab Shetty also reviewed HanuMan and praised the actor and director. He wrote, “Joining the chorus of praise for Hanuman – a triumph in storytelling and filmmaking by Prashant Verma. Teja Sejja’s performance stays with you long after the credits roll… Hanuman… @PrasanthVarma @tejasajja123.”
