The trailer of Netflix’s upcoming film The Archies has recently been released. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies is based on the characters of Archie Comics. The film sets its premise in 1960s India, where Archie and the gang navigate romance, friendship, and the future of Riverdale. Tiger Baby Films produces the film, with Ayesha Devitre Dhillon, Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar writing the screenplay.

The recently released trailer for The Archies opens with an introduction to the infamous town of Riverdale. The narrative unfolds with a set of rising challenges when Archie finds himself entangled in a love triangle with Veronica and Betty. However, their lives take a dramatic turn when a businessman sets his sights on demolishing their beloved Green Park area. So, the group set on a mission to stand united and fight for their beloved sanctuary.
The Archies release date, cast and more
Netflix will release The Archies on December 7, 2023. The film stars Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda, and Aditi ‘Dot’ Saigal. The Archies marks the acting debut for Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya, and Sridevi’s youngest daughter, Khushi.
The trailer also gives an introduction to the other primary characters of the gang, including Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Aditi Saigal as Ethel Muggs, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley. The Archies will also star Koel Purie as Hermione Lodge and Tara Sharma as Mary Andrews.
The filmmakers recently released the upbeat tracks “Sunoh” and “Va Va Voom” from The Archies, which have received positive reviews. Zoya Akhtar’s filmmaking style, combined with the vintage-ness of the story, makes this teen-musical a promising and heartwarming experience.
