The Curse of La Llorona featurette calls everyone’s faith into question
Warner Bros. has released a new featurette for The Curse of La Llorona, which tackles the issue of faith, how they handled the netherworld on set, as well as heavily featuring the character of Father Perez, whose very presence cements the film as part of the larger Conjuring universe. You can check out the featurette in the player below!
In 1970s Los Angeles, La Llorona is stalking the night—and the children. Ignoring the eerie warning of a troubled mother suspected of child endangerment, a social worker and her own small kids are soon drawn into a frightening supernatural realm. Their only hope to survive La Llorona’s deadly wrath may be a disillusioned priest and the mysticism he practices to keep evil at bay, on the fringes where fear and faith collide.
Directed by Michael Chaves (Chase Champion) and written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis in their theatrical debuts, The Curse of La Llorona stars Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen, Roman Christou, Linda Cardellini (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Patricia Velasquez (The Mummy), Sean Patrick Thomas (Barbershop: Back in Business) and Raymond Cruz (Better Call Saul).
Produced by Conjuring franchise-runner James Wan, the film is also produced by Gary Dauberman (IT: Chapter 2, Untitled Annabelle 3) and Emile Gladstone with Michael Clear serving as executive producer.
The Curse of La Llorona will creep into theaters on April 19.
