Something Weird Video Sells Off Rare Image DVD Stock

Legendary exploitation film distributor Something Weird Video sells off stock of beloved Image DVD collections

Legendary exploitation movie imprint and archive Something Weird Video will live forever, no matter what state the changing face of media leaves the company in. The rich, wild history behind the SWV and the madcap stories that led to its creation will live on in infamy and are forever hard-wired into the hearts of horror and trash film fans worldwide.

A great deal of Something Weird‘s cult stemmed from the high profile founder Mike Vraney and his not-so-silent partner, director Frank Henelotter’s sweetheart deal they made in the late 1990’s with distributor Image Entertainment. Combing through the negatives that the duo heisted from the Movielab vaults (hear the entire amazing story here), Henenlotter put together full-blown film festivals, often dumping two handsomely transferred exploitation gems together as a double feature and then jamming the back end with carefully curated trailers, short subjects, industrial and educational films and stag loops. The resulting discs became instantly legendary party platters, a delightfully context-free portal into the fringes of filmmaking that opened the eyes and minds of an entire generation.

And while those beloved Image discs have long since gone out of print, Something Weird’s current braintrust (and Vraney’s widow), the amazing Lisa Petrucci, has recently purchased the remaining “Dead Stock” of the Image DVDs from their warehouse and are making them available to the fans at a sweetheart price of @19.95! All are original factory pressed discs from the first releases. Many of these have been selling for outrageous prices on eBay and Amazon because they’ve been so hard to find. Some have already sold out and the title below are what’s left.

Have a look. But they won’t last…so move yer keister, meister!

Go to the official Something Weird store and order today! If you buy three, the company will throw in an exclusive SWV sampler. Go man, go!
