Texas Frightmare Weekend 2016 Welcomes Founding KISS Member Peter Criss

Legendary shock rock drummer Peter Criss to appear at Texas Frightmare Weekend.

Deep in the heart of Texas lurks the greatest American horror and cult film convention ever unleashed, the Texas Frightmare Weekend, three days of Dallas-based genre film culture celebrations, hero-worship, socializing, hard-partying and grandiose wallet-draining fun.

The festival, running from April 29th to May 1st, 2016, is rolling out the bloody red-carpet for  such stars as Robert Englund, George A. Romero, Lance Henriksen and many, many more.

And today TFW announced that one of their key guests of honor, a real shock-rock legend, will attend.

Texas Frightmare Weekend produly announces that drummer Peter Criss, one of the founding members of the biggest theatrical rock bands in history, KISS, will attend and sign for all three days of the fest. Criss will also appear for an exclusive meet and greet appearance.

Born Peter Ciscuola in NYC, Criss channeled both his love of swing drummers like Gene Krupa and his own rough and tumble life on the streets to create his persona in KISS, that of the scrappy “Catman”. Along with key members, singer/songwriters and band brain-trusts Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley and lead guitarist/songwriter Ace Frehley, Criss took KISS to impossible commercial and cult heights in the 1970’s, bringing a hard, rough rock edge and wild, phantasmagorical theatrics to the stage.

And though Peter official left the band in the early part of the decade, his persona adapted and altered by current KISS drummer Eric Singer, life-long fans will always hold Peter’s work (including his chart-topping anthem BETH from the 1976 album DESTROYER) in high regard.

“After hosting an appearance by Ace Frehley at our 2014 event we’ve been flooded with requests to bring in Peter Criss,” says Texas Frightmare Weekend founder Loyd Cryer. “Our event has always been about fulfilling fans’ requests and we are honored that Peter has agreed to attend.”

Peter will attend the event on all three days giving his fans plenty of opportunities for autographs, photos and meet and greets. Tickets for the event are available for purchase now here.
