STREET TRASH Writer/Producer Roy Frumkes to Judge ‘Buffalo Dreams’ Fest

Our friend, director, writer and Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival director Gregory Lamberson just let us know that screenwriter and film producer Roy Frumkes has agreed to judge the “unproduced original screenplay competition” for the fest’s 2016 season. The genre film festival expands to 10 days, Nov. 4th – 13th in Buffalo, New York.

Frumkes is best known as the writer-producer of the cult horror classic STREET TRASH and is the director of The Definitive Document of the Dead, which follows the career of George A. Romero. Italian horror fans know that Frumke’s unfinished film TALES THAT WILL RIP YOUR HEART OUT also was spliced into the DR. BUTCHER M.D, the US version of ZOMBI HOLOCAUST.

Frunkes has taught screenwriting, film production and the history of the horror genre during his distinguished career as an instructor at New York’s School of Visual Arts, and he is the owner of Films in Review, the online version of the nation’s first film publication.

“We’re to thrilled to bring Roy back to Buffalo as the judge of our original feature length screenplay competition,” says Lamberson. “In his role as an educator, Roy has been an opponent of artistic discrimination against genre material, and we welcome screenplay submissions of all genres. We’ll narrow down the selections to five finalists, and Roy will evaluate those.”
