Wesley Snipes continues to tease a reprisal as Blade
Back at San Diego Comic-Con, Wesley Snipes made headlines by claiming some conversations had taken place about a potential return to the Daywalker himself, Blade. Following that, another related rumor popped up last month that the latest Blade comic book series was of keen interest to Marvel Studios as the blue print for a new film.
Now, speaking with The Huffington Post, Snipes doubled down on his teasing, saying conversations have been good about a reprisal.
“There’s always a possibility, you know. It’s in Marvel’s hands. They’re controlling the pace and the flow with that. Conversations have been good. They see the value in it. We see the value in it. I’m still in shape enough and fit enough to handle the role. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t really know what’s going to happen to it yet.”
The outlet went on to ask Snipes how he would feel about his character teaming up with The Avengers, to which he replied:
“That would be interesting. I mean, I know it’s in the comic book. It would be interesting to see where they would place him and where he really would fit in. He’s got to bite somebody. I don’t know who he’s going to bite.”
Snipes previously starred as the character in three Blade movies, the first of which helped shepherd comic books and superheroes to the big screen. Combined, the three films brought in over $400 million at the global box office.
