Following four seasons as the focal point, the matriarch, the supreme of Ryan Murphy & Brad Falchuk’s nutty anthology series, American Horror Story, Jessica Lange as confirmed the expected: she’s leaving.

At the annual Paleyfest celebration of TV, the American Horror Story panel reflected on fourth go, Freak Show, while previewing the upcoming Lady Gaga-starring Hotel. Asked if she’d be back for the stay. the celebrated Lange said, ““We’ve had a great run. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters, and in all the madness, I loved the writers, actors, Ryan, the whole insanity of it, the stories, shooting here, shooting in New Orleans, everything. To cut to the chase, yes, I’m done.”

Throughout her time on American Horror Story, Lange was huge component of the show’s kooky appeal, its anything-goes atmosphere anchored by her often tremendous performances. Lange essayed neighbor Constance in first season Murder House, the head nun of a 50s hospital for the disturbed in Asylum, the ultimate witch bitch Supreme in Coven and lastly, sideshow matriarch Elsa Mars in Freak Show. Lange has won a Golden Globe and two Emmys for her work on the show.

At the panel, it was revealed Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson will join Gaga in the fifth season, Hotel, expected to premiere this fall. [Vulture[
