Kevin Smith is Moving Forward With Anti-Claus Project


Anti-Claus artThat Kevin Smith holiday horror film we first told you about in January has its cast and is gaining momentum.

The director is going to reunite with his cast of Tusk – Justin Long, Michael Parks, Haley Joel Osment and Genesis Rodriguez – for Anti-Claus. Your first look at the Krampus creature that will appear in the film comes via concept art from Robert Kurtzman's Creature Corps.

Anti-Claus tells the tale of the centuries-old, devil-like creature known the world-over as the Krampus – the “Anti-Claus” of Alpine country folklore, infamous for eating naughty children during the season of giving.

XYZ Films is handling sales for the horror film which will be touted at Cannes.

“When I was a kid, if they wanted to make a Christmas horror movie, they’d stick an axe in Santa’s hands,” says Smith, who is set to start shooting in September. “In Anti-Claus, we leave Santa alone and creep with the Krampus through twisted tales of holly-jolly murder, desire, desperation and despair. Just in time for the holiday season.”

Smith will shoot the film before embarking on Clerks 3Tusk hits theaters later this year.
