Deadline is reporting that 12-year-old actor Ty Simpkins of Insidious and Insidious Chapter Two has landed one of the lead roles in director Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World, the fourth film in the dinosaur-fueled series.
The site also says that New Girl star Jake Johnson is reportedly in the mix for a role in the film, but that remains unconfirmed. Steven Spielberg returns to produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series with Trevorrow both directing and co-writing alongside Derek Connolly.
Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are attached to produce alongside Spielberg. Actress Bryce Dallas Howard is also in negotiations for a role in the film.
Jurassic World will be shot in 3D and is planned to hit theaters on Friday, June 12, 2015.
