Over six months ago came the inital tease from Marvel that fabled writer/director George Romero would be bringing a new comic series to life, and since then we’ve heard nothing. Now the man himself has spoken and dropped a few more details on what the project, which is reportedly superhero free, will entail. Hit the jump to hear what he had to say.
Speaking with DailyDead.com Romero had this to say:
Max Brooks and I do these panel discussions together and he believes that humans dont stand a chance. I dont know Im writing a comic book series right now for Marvel. I cant really say anything about the story, but Ill just say that the zombies are advancing even a little further.
Though the initial teaser said the project would hit stores in the fall of 2013, Romero says that this is no longer the case and that it won’t debut until 2014. He also revealed that the series will likely be only a limited run and so far is fifteen issues in length.
Its fifteen books, so its long. Its the equivalent of two and a half screenplays. Its a novel basically and, in fact, I might novelize it.
Check back for more updates on Romero’s comic project as we learn them. Any guesses what he means by the zombies “are advancing?”
