Dimension Films Reveals Future Plans for Piranha 3DD, Dark Skies

In this L.A. Times article – which takes a look at the genre production arm of The Weinstein Company – it is revealed Piranha 3DD will get a simultaneous theatrical and VOD release on a day to be determined (I’m going to take a guess that the latter will not be in 3D…er, 3DD?).

The follow-up to Alex Aja’s Piranha 3D is directed this time by John Gulager (Feast) and was written by the Saw franchise’s Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton.  If you missed the trailer, follow this link!

Also revealed in the Times’ article: Dimension Films will produce Dark Skies, an action horror film that the Times says is from the producer of Paranormal Activity and the director of Priest, Scott Stewart.

Shooting begins this summer.
