The Lone Ranger is Back in the Game

But will it feature werewolves?

Remember when The Lone Ranger first hit Shock’s headlines?

Yeah, weird.

Recently, Disney put the film on hold due to its gigantic budget. Gore Verbinski is directing for mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Tonto will be played by Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer is the Lone Ranger. But the reason it found space on this site is because the plot involved werewolves.

Yep, the main antagonist was some bad-ass lycanthrope in a supernatural story about Native American shapeshifters.

Well, Deadline is reporting The Long Ranger is back on its feet after some struggle to pull the budget down to a “manageable” $215 million (that’s a change from the original $250-275 million). I’m sure werewolves are still involved – there were no reports of script changes, yet – so we’ll keep an eye on this as more news come in.
