Seth Rogen’s take on end-of-world horror ala The Mist
Earlier today, ShockTillYouDrop’s sister site SuperHeroHype had a chance to sit down with Seth Rogen to talk about his new movie The Green Hornet, but they were nice enough to share some of what the comic actor had to say about his first foray into horror with Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse, another project he’s developing with his long-time collaborator and Superbad/Pineapple Express co-writer Evan Goldberg. The “Jay” in the title is Jay Baruchel, who previously told Shock about his own horror project he’s writing called Pig.
“We’ve been writing our apocalypse movie, which is coming along,” Rogen said in the interview. “It’s crazy, it’s kind of a horror-comedy. We like those movies like âThe Mist’ and stuff where it’s a bunch of people trapped in a place together and something horrible is happening outside, so that’s probably what it will be like.”
Not quite horror (though ghost-related), Rogen also told them that he hasn’t started doing any voicework on the DreamWorks Animation Boo U, which is his own vehicle for the company, but he does think it’s still happening. He doesn’t really have anything that he’s gearing up to start making next and will just continue writing “Apocalypse” as well as developing an “R-rated Pixar-style movie which has been difficult to get going.”
Check out their full interview with Seth next week on SuperHeroHype as well as lots of other cool stuff from The Green Hornet before it opens on January 14.
