Ouija Won’t Be Scary

Writers briefly hint at what’s to come

Looks like we won’t be following Ouija as closely as we have been since the project’s announcement.

Based on the popular spooky ol’ slice of cardboard that supposedly lets you communicate with the supernatural, the film is being produced by Universal and Platinum Dunes and Tron Legacy‘s writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz recently confirmed one thing about the project: It won’t be scary.

“No. It’s Indiana Jones – that kind of tone,” says Horowitz. “It’s a big adventure movie.”

Sort of like Jumanji? Fair enough. Out of the spate of board games being turned into films, it looked like we had a horror movie on the way with Ouija (especially given the board game’s nature). But it seems totally logical to make Ouija an action-adventure film, right?

Right?
