Update: Alien Prequel Rumors False? No Way!

Title revealed and project close to lead actors?

Update: No surprise, even Vulture’s reports appear to be b.s., so here on Shock, we’ll just take a wait and see stance until something official comes in. Chris Petrikin, senior V.P. of communications at Fox, said this on his Twitter account last night: “I don’t know where to begin to correct what is being written about a certain Ridley Scott project…” There you go. Wait with us. Let’s see what happens, officially.

So, we avoided all of that nonsense that hit the web a few days ago about Ridley Scott’s back-to-back Alien prequels being pushed to 2013 and 2014.

In everyone’s rush to be “first” with the news, no one thought to turning to their studio reps. And our Fox reps are saying those delays are rubbish.

Further, Vulture is throwing some more gossip into the mix. According to their studio sources, the first Alien prequel is being called Paradise. Michelle Yeoh is being sought for a character named “Vickers,” meanwhile, there were talks to get Michael Fassbender involved as an android.

Vulture says there will also be a CG creation called “Engineer 1” and Scott is hiring a 6-foot-5 actor for the part. As for the story, it will stick with the Alien formula of “creature on a ship.”

Ah, information leaks are fun, eh? I’m sure Fox and Scott are thrilled about this (insert sarcasm). It’s only a matter of time before the studio delivers some official news.
