Sam Raimi to produce re-telling
Last month, it was announced Don Murphy and Michael Pregger were developing a new take on John Wyndham’s 1951 novel “The Day of the Triffids.”
After a bidding war for the rights package Pregger held, Mandate Pictures came out on top which means Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert’s Ghost House will produce the property.
Deadline is saying Raimi will also direct, as it was one of his favorite childhood stories. “Triffids” follows the rise of a devastating and aggressive plant species that travels on three legs and wields a poisonous stinger.
