Actress confirmed to reprise her role

You read that right. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed today that the actress will be reprising her role as Dexter’s wife Rita in Showtime’s forthcoming season.
How can this be? Give her – SPOILERS! SPOILERS! – demise at the hands of the Trinity killer (John Lithgow) last season, she can’t possibly be back, can she?
Theories: Dexter’s dad is dead, yet he’s in nearly every episode as a guiding voice for his son. The writers could be going the same route for Rita. Or she’ll just return in flashbacks.
