Jurassic Park 4 Kicks Off New Trilogy?

Director of third chapter dishes some dirt

Joe Johnston, director of the upcoming The Wolfman, was interviewed by Box Office and he had something to say about the long-mooted Jurassic Park IV.

“There is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen,” Johnston told the site. “It breaks away from the first three — it’s essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It’s going to be done in a completely different way. That’s pretty much all I can tell you.”

Johnston directed the last installment – a “further adventures of” segment more than a story that progressed the mythology of the franchise.

But how much is Johnston involved in the JP4 development process? After all, he’s deep in prep on Captain America right now. Also, if you recall, producer Kathleen Kennedy was quoted as saying in 2008 that maybe it was best not to “mess” with the franchise after author Michael Crichton’s death.

Then again, this isn’t the first time Johnston talked about the sequel, so yeah…he probably knows a thing or two.
