Jeff Goldblum shares video of singing ‘Blackbird’ with Sam Neill and Laura Dern
Goldblum reposted a video from Anna Dickie, which featured him, Neill, and Dern singing the song “Blackbird.” He played the piano as the other two sang along and vibed to the track. Apart from this, he also shared a series of stills from 1993 Jurassic Park, showcasing the original trio. He wrote, “The next great adventure begins. Love, always and forever.”
This was also reposted on his story. Dern also shared memories from the sets, red carpet, and with the Jurassic Park trio. She wrote, “Sam was my beloved lifetime friend… He showed me the depths of loyalty, protectiveness, and love, always with the driest of wit. He was a true and noble gentleman, wrapped up in my dream leading man. I will love you forever, Dr. Alan Grant.”
Howard, who plays Claire Dearing in the Jurassic World franchise and first featured in the 2015 movie, shared the “Blackbird” singing video and her happy selfie with Neil. The actress also wrote a lengthy caption to honor him.
“Sam had an immense passion for life. Generous with his wine, his stories, his time. One of the most unassumingly attractive and magnetic people I’ve ever met. One of the greats, in every sense. [Neill] He loved his home. He loved his family, his pets, his farm. He was a friend to everyone. I’m so sad for the world today but especially for those who got to see him every day. He lit up every room he walked into and made the experience of being human feel dazzling,” she wrote. Further, the 45-year-old gave condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who loved him.
Neill’s family earlier released a statement to announce his death. Though the cause of death remains unknown, the family clarified that he was cancer-free upon death, a diagnosis he earlier announced in his 2023 memoir, Did I Ever Tell You This? “Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterized his whole life. The loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer-free.”
