The studio that fueled Activity‘s success
Is this really any surprise? Variety is reporting Oren Peli’s Area 51, his latest exercise in the “found footage” format, is going to be distributed by Paramount Pictures.
The studio is also responsible for releasing Paranormal Activity this fall.
Peli’s latest tells of three teens who break into the titular base that supposedly houses a UFO. Shooting wrapped three weeks ago with unknowns Reid Warner, Darrin Bragg and Ben Rovner starring.
Paramount dropped seven figures on the acquisition of the film, beating out four other bidders.
A release date is unknown at this time.
