Anchor Bay Entertainment will distribute the disturbing new film from Moderncine, Home Movie, on DVD in the Canada April 21st.
Home Movie chronicles the Poe family’s descent into darkness through a compilation of the familyâs home-made video footage. In the remote woods of upstate New York, David (Adrian Pasdar) and Clare (Cady McClain) Poe are attempting to live a Norman Rockwell life – perfect marriage, perfect house. However, the Poe children are hiding a dark secret among themselves and something is dreadfully wrong with 10-year old twins, Jack (Austin Williams) and Emily (Amber Joy Williams) Poe. The parents helplessly document the irrational chaos produced by their children with their video camera, while simultaneously attempting to contain and define it with religion and psychotherapy. As they attempt to regain control of their childrenâs lives the imperative question becomes who will ultimately survive the struggle.
Director/writer Christopher Denham is an accomplished playwright and actor for stage, television, and has appeared in film. A Chicago native, he will be seen onscreen in Martin Scorseseâs Ashcliffe, with Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tony Gilroyâs Duplicity with Julia Roberts, Clive Owen and Tom Wilkinson, both to be released in early 2009.
This DVD release of Home Movie will contain a Making of Home Movie featurette and theatrical trailer.
