Zombie on Recasting Daeg in H2

Actor grew up faster than he expected

He had good intentions to maintain continuity, but an unexpected growth spurt in one of his lead actors has forced writer-director Rob Zombie to cut the actor from the upcoming H2 (aka Halloween 2).

This week, young actor Daeg Faerch relayed to his fans that he will not be seen playing young Michael Myers again, as he did in Zombie’s Halloween remake. Zombie addresses this with the following: “I know some of you are confused as to why Daeg is not in the film. Recasting young Michael was not something I wanted to do, but the scenes just didn’t work anymore. Daeg is no longer a little boy, he is a teenager with a deep voice. Once you see the film you will understand why I made this choice. It was not an easy choice and was not made lightly. Daeg kicked ass in Halloween, but things change. I think Daeg is very, very talented and I wish him all the best.”

When Faerch’s replacement is announced, we’ll let you know. Zombie is wrapping his second week of shooting on H2. For a full cast list, click here.
