Panabaker and Anderson Join The Crazies

The Breck Eisner-directed remake

Danielle Panabaker (Friday the 13th) and Joe Anderson (The Ruins) have joined the cast of The Crazies, Overture’s take on the George A. Romero classic being directed by Breck Eisner, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The script, by Scott Kosar and Ray Wright, centers on the inhabitants of a small Kansas town who are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply.

Panabaker plays a receptionist at the town’s medical center. Anderson takes on the role of the town’s deputy.

Timothy Olyphant stars as the town sheriff.

The film is set to begin principal photography March 5 in Georgia, with additional shooting to take place in Iowa.
