Raimi’s Ghost House Goes Underground

Lordi’s Dark Floors gets U.S. distro!

This was inevitable. With Dimension Films and Dark Castle carving out a niche on the DVD market, it’s only natural Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert follow suit with Ghost House Underground, a home video division of their theatrical label.

The game plan is to work “mostly” with Lionsgate to distribute under the GHU label and the first title out of the gate will be Dark Floors, the horror film featuring the rock band Lordi. Other films on tap: Room 205 (read our review!), The Substitute, The Last House in the Woods, Brotherhood of Blood and Trackman.

GHU is also working with Grindstone in this venture. “We believe the next great horror film is going to come from fresh, bold voices working outside the system,” Tapert says. “We aim to find these films and share them with genre fans everywhere.”
