There’s this dude name Van Helsing. He falls for this gal, realizes she is Dracula’s daughter and that they’re supposed to be enemies. But love conquers all, right? So, this couple sets off to make peace between humans and monsters.

Such is the “Romeo & Juliet”-inspired plot of Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania. A project that has been gestating for seven years finally attached a director. In this case Open Season‘s Jill Culton. Kevin and Daniel Hageman are the credited writers on the script which has survived many incarnations.
