Anchor Bay, Weinsteins House Mother of Tears?

Sealing up distro deal for Argento film

According to Bloody-Disgusting, Anchor Bay Entertainment and The Weinstein Co. are hashing out the specifics of a joint acquisition deal for Myriad Pictures and Dario Argento’s Mother of Tears.

Argento’s long-awaited sequel played at the Toronto International Film Festival to a standing ovation.

The Weinstein Co. has been scooping up titles left and right proving horror’s oscillating year at the box office has not deterred the company any from investing in more fright fare.

In addition to Inside (a film our contributing writer, Edward Douglas, called the goriest film he’s ever seen), a deal made long before the fest, the brothers also scored George Romero’s Diary of the Dead (more on that here).
