General Hospital recently marked the return of a key character. He was last seen in March 2026, with his first glimpse since featured in the promo for Wednesday’s episode. Michael E. Knight returns as Martin Grey, an antagonist character who is the brother of Cyrus Renault and half-paternal sibling of Laura Collins.

Knight’s Martin Grey was featured in the Wednesday promo that aired right after the Tuesday episode concluded. In the clip, Laura was present alongside her brother Martin, both seated at a table at the Metro Court pool. She told him there was something else he could help her with.
Before this appearance, he was back in the mix earlier this year, but his character left Port Charles temporarily. At the time, he informed Laura that he was going to Reno for a new case. He stepped away from his job for a few months. However, Grey and Laura remained unaware that Sidwell was behind sending him out of town and picking up this case. Sidwell did this to ensure that Martin didn’t ask questions about his blackmail plot time and again.
The character Martin Grey was first introduced in 2019 as a skilled attorney. He went to incarcerate Nelle Benson to go through her case. During that time, he clearly mentioned that her case appeared weak. Despite the chances of her winning the case being low, Nelle opened up to Martin, saying that she did feel guilty for her crimes and that she was trying to be a changed person. Respecting her honesty, Martin eventually agreed to fight for the case in the next parole hearing.
Apart from his GH role, Knight has also been a part of other popular soap operas, including All My Children, The Young and the Restless, and One Life to Live.
