Laura Wright, who portrays Carly on General Hospital, recently spoke about Carly’s jealousy towards Britt. So far, the character has claimed on the show that she was not envious of Jason’s growing fondness for Britt, who has recently returned to the land of the living, but the actress revealed that it was not the case.
Laura Wright confirms Carly is jealous of Jason and Britt on General Hospital
In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Carly’s portrayer, Laura Wright, broke down the character’s reaction to Jason and Britt’s growing romance on General Hospital. While in the series, Carly appears to be fine with former lover Jason’s growing fondness for Britt, who is back from the dead.
However, Wright does not believe this is the case.
Responding to Carly’s claims that she was not jealous of Britt, Wright said, “Come on — of course she is! 100 percent she is!” The resentment that Carly holds “is not so much that Jason would go to the ends of the earth for the character of Britt, to help her and save her. She gets that; that’s Jason. But it’s just that thing of, ‘If he’s that invested in someone else, will he still be there for her?'”
Moreover, Jason did not inform Carly about Britt’s return, leaving her to discover the news on her own. “Carly was the only one who didn’t know,” she said, “Sonny knew, even Brick knew! Immediately, she was left on the outside. It’s like, ‘Our whole little posse knew, and you didn’t tell me?!’ [In Carly’s mind], Jason changes toward her [when Britt is in the picture]. There’s just something about her, and Carly doesn’t like it! It scares her.”
The actress continued, “I’m not saying it’s right…But the situation is what it is. She doesn’t like it at all, and she would have no problem if Britt decided to leave town and go live somewhere else! She would be like, ‘I totally understand — how far can I help you pack [laughs]?”
Wright summed up the matter, “Carly can see how much he cares about her, and she doesn’t like it. It scares her. She doesn’t even have a great reason; it’s just a Carly thing. It’s just who she is. She’s terrified that someone’s going to take Jason from her, and that’s just the way it is and the way it’s always been!”
