For the past year on General Hospital, Marco has blamed Sonny for the death of his mother, Natalia. While some fans have since debated about who the real culprit could be, many are now suggesting that Marco could be the real reason why his mother is dead. But it’s not for the obvious reasons.
Here are the details on what the fans are saying.

General Hospital fans think Marco’s ignorance led to Natalia’s death
During last year’s General Hospital’s June 30 episode, Natalia had a mental breakdown and was later found dead at the hotel. Although it was declared that she died due to a pill overdose, viewers have since argued that either Sonny or Sidwell might have killed her and staged it to look like a suicide. Most people believe that the latter has a higher probability
However, Marco has blamed Sonny from the beginning. Following Natalia’s death, Marco decided to seek revenge and has since worked with Sidwell on his secret project. Now, after the February 16 episode, in which Marco explained his reasons to Lucas, fans have begun to blame Marco for his mother’s death since he ignored her calls on the day she died.
A user took to the show’s Facebook page and wrote, “Isn’t it Marco who ‘killed’ his mom? He didn’t answer her call, and she was depressed about always being ignored by her kids. Or am I wrong?”
The post has garnered a lot of attention, receiving hundreds of comments from other fans sharing their opinions. A user wrote, “He had the argument with her and said she was no longer his mom. He disowned her and she lost it. It’s his guilt, not Sonny’s.”
Meanwhile, another user replied, “Marco treated her like dirt, but now he wants to avenge her.” A third user commented, “Yep, I am sure his guilt is driving his blaming Sonny.”
However, some users have also defended Marco, pointing out that Natalia was not a great mother to her children. “She was a terrible mom. He ignored her because he didn’t know she overdosed. She didn’t accept either of her children and tried to control their lives,” said a user.
Many users have also taken the opportunity to point out that Sidwell might have done it. Nonetheless, the consensus is that Marco’s guilt is driving his ambition. Could this guilt drive him to greater lengths to seek revenge? Or will he overcome his feelings? That remains to be seen.
