In a twist on General Hospital, Dr. Portia Robinson has found herself facing a pregnancy dilemma. After patching things up with her estranged husband, Curtis Ashford, and a fling with coworker Dr. Isaiah Gannon, she has no clue who the father of her baby is.
Portia was in a similar situation years ago when she was married to Marcus Taggert, and the paternity of their daughter, Trina, was in question.
Here’s Who Could Be the Father of Portia’s Baby on General Hospital
Portia Robinson’s pregnancy test came back positive, but the identity of the dad is up for debate. She had a brief fling with Curtis Ashford in August and then started seeing Isaiah Gannon soon after, so either could be the father. Additionally, in an earlier episode, Isaiah sends Curtis a recording of Portia’s conversation with Ava Jerome, which has added tension between the two men, or “potential fathers.”
We shouldn’t forget that Portia has a history of keeping paternity secrets, as seen when she first led Curtis to believe he was Trina’s father. So, it won’t be a shock if she decides to keep the baby’s father a secret this time, too.
Sources say Portia is both disappointed and confused, wondering how she ended up in this situation. She has also decided to keep this a secret to protect both her family and career.
Actress Brook Kerr also shared a fun behind-the-scenes story about finding out her on-screen character, Portia, would become a mother. She was about to shoot some scenes when EP Frank Valentini called her and told her she was “doing a great job” on the scene, and then said to her that Portia was going to have a baby.
Kerr was totally shocked but thrilled, calling it “such a beautiful thing” and a meaningful storyline to explore. She also said it was a lot to process in the moment, especially thinking about Trina becoming a big sister.
Either way, this new development is definitely going to make the show more interesting. It could spark a new story arc or even some tension between Curtis Ashford and Dr. Isaiah Gannon.
