Why E! News Did Not Air a New Episode on July 24

E! News did not air a new episode on July 24, leaving fans concerned regarding the show’s future. The popular entertainment program, renowned for its in-depth pop culture coverage, has recently undergone significant changes to its schedule. Viewers are now wondering when the newscast will return with brand new episodes.

Here’s everything we know.

Why did E! News’ new episode not air yesterday and when will it return?

E! News did not air a new episode on Thursday, July 24, in light of its recent cancellation.

The popular newscast was canceled on Thursday, after more than three decades of exhaustive coverage of all things pop culture and celebrity. Although the July 24 broadcast was a repeat, fans can rest assured that new episodes will resume airing on Monday, July 28. Several reports have confirmed that E! News will continue broadcasting until September 25, 2025.

This marks the program’s second cancellation since its debut in September 1991. The popular newscast had previously gone on an indefinite hiatus in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The show made its comeback two years later as a late-night news program.

E! Network reportedly canceled E! News again this year in hopes of maintaining its online presence on social media and digital platforms. Variety has gathered from an insider that viewers are preferring real-time digital coverage, which cannot be satisfied by the program’s usual 11 p.m. slot.

Reports also suggest that E! News will transition from its parent company, NBCUniversal, to its spin-off branch, Versant. Several correspondents will reportedly move to the new company, although their roles are yet to be specified.

The program might soon be off the air, but the E! network will continue to release new episodes of its original shows. These include popular reality TV shows like “Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind” and “Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.” The network is also set to debut its upcoming shows “Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane” and “E!’s Dirty Rotten Scandals.”
