Why General Hospital Fans Think Erika Slezak Will Play Monica’s Sister

One Life to Live star Erika Slezak is on her way to Port Charles, and she might end up playing a key role in General Hospital, as per the latest reports. Though her arrival is still some time away, rumors suggest that the six-time Emmy-winning actress will play Monica’s long-lost sister.

ABC has yet to reveal Slezak’s role in General Hospital, further giving rise to speculation.

Will Erika Slezak play Monica’s sister or Victoria Lord on General Hospital?

As per the latest report from Daytime Confidential, Slezak will not be playing the iconic Victoria Lord, the role she embodied in One Life to Live. Instead, rumors suggest that she will be taking on the role of Dr. Monica Quartermaine’s long-lost sister. Monica was one of the most iconic characters in General Hospital. Leslie Charleson played the role before her passing.

The established storyline for Monica depicts her as an orphan raised by Gail Baldwin, so she should not have a sister. But this may change with a narrative twist, and Slezak may end up playing this new character. Moreover, Slezak taking on this role could help fill the void left behind by Monica in General Hospital.

The last official source from the show that discussed this did not reveal Slezak’s role. When Slezak announced her return to soap operas, her official fan club revealed that she did not know what role she was slated to play.

Moreover, Frank Valentini announced the news on his official X handle but did not reveal her role there either. Valentini posted, “I am thrilled to confirm that my dear friend and former ‘One Life to Live’ colleague, Erika Slezak, will appear on @GeneralHospital this Fall. Stay tuned as we prepare to introduce another daytime legend to Port Charles.”

Other details about Slezak’s character also remain under wraps. Hence, for now, fans can only speculate about what role she will play.
