The Good Doctor Season 7 Episode 10 Ending Explained & Spoilers: What Happened?

The Good Doctor Season 7 ended on ABC recently and many fans are wondering what happened to their favorite characters in the finale. David Shore created the medical drama series as a remake of the South Korean show of the same name. The plot revolves around Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young and gifted surgeon who is on the autistic spectrum. As Shaun begins working at the fictional San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital, he faces the perceptions of both his patients and colleagues.

The Good Doctor aired between September 25, 2017, and May 21, 2024, and was consistently one of the most-watched shows on network television. As a result, there is considerable interest about how it ended.

Here is how The Good Doctor Season 7 Episode 10 ended and what happened to the fan-favorite characters.

What happened to every character at the end of The Good Doctor Season 7 finale?

In The Good Doctor Season 7 finale, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff) reveals to Shaun and Lea (Paige Spara) that his cancer is back and that he has only a few months left. Predictably, Shaun refuses to accept this and sets up a team to search for a solution, even though Glassman doesn’t want it. As he devotes himself to treating the only mentor and father figure in his life, he has little time to spare for Claire (Antonia Thomas), who has been diagnosed with acinetobacter, an antibiotic-resistant infection.

The epilogue of the series takes place 10 years after the main narrative and opens with Shaun giving a Ted Talk. As he speaks, the viewers get a montage explaining what happened to Shaun and the people around him in the intermediate period.

Here is where the following characters of The Good Doctor ended up.

Shaun and Lea

During his speech, Shaun reveals that he is now the Chief of Surgery at the San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital. He and Lea have a daughter now, in addition to their son, Steven.

Jared Kalu and Claire Browne

Following her diagnosis, Claire was placed in a coma and one of her arms was amputated. Shaun and Charlie (Kayla Cromer) had come up with the idea of using an experimental bacteriophage treatment, however, it was rejected by the FDA. Shaun subsequently decided that he would administer the treatment to Claire, despite knowing that it would mean the end of his career. This is when Glassman stepped in and treated Claire. Ten years later, Claire is in a relationship with Jared Kalu (Chuku Modu), and they have a daughter together.

Aaron Glassman

In the epilogue, it is implied that Glassman passed away about 10 years ago. His decision to treat Claire in Shaun’s stead was his final gift to both of them. Six months after his death, Shaun founded the Dr. Aaron Glassman Foundation for Neurodiversity in Medicine. He reveals during his speech that he and Claire currently run the organization together.

Audrey Lim

Lim resigned from the hospital and relocated to Ukraine as part of the Surgeons for a Better World to help the victims of the war. However, she is present at Shaun’s Ted Talk along with his family and their mutual friends.

Morgan Reznick and Alex Park

The series finale discloses that Morgan and Alex officially adopted Eden. Like others, they attended Shaun’s Ted Talk as well.

All the seasons are available to stream on Hulu.
