What happened at the end of Death & Other Details Episode 8?
Death & Other Details Episode 8, titled “Vanishing”, ended with the agents of Viktor Sams taking over the entire ship.
Episode 8 made quite a few revelations concerning the Collier family’s past, Anna, Katherine, Lawrence, Celia Chun, and more. Celia Chun held a personal grudge against Lawrence Collier and his company as they were responsible for the death of her husband and many others. This is because they knowingly made factory workers use the harmful pigment, Captionem Blue.
She was the witness in the case that Kira Scott built against Lawrence Collier. Meanwhile, the episode revealed the true lineage of Anna Collier as she was the biological daughter of Llewellyn Mathers and Katherine Collier, not Lawrence.
As Imogene went on to confront Lawrence about her mother’s demise, he mistook her to be Kira. Anna revealed that he has been diagnosed with on-set dementia, among other things, causing him to forget and be delusional about certain important matters. His ailment caused him to hand over the company’s control to the Chuns instead of announcing Anna to be its next CEO.
Furthermore, he revealed the truth about him having a hand in Kira Scott’s demise. The episode ended with Viktor Sams’ men arriving to seize the ship, instead of the backup that Agent Hilde called for. This happened because Sams had already hacked into the ship’s servers and taken control over the backup generators and communication.
Now, Episode 9 and the finale are expected to reveal his true identity while showcasing a fightback from Sunil and Jules.
Who Dies in Death & Other Details Episode 8?
Katherine Collier dies at the end of Death & Other Details Episode 8.
While the episode shed more light on Llewellyn’s death being a murder and not suicide, it killed off another character that was presumed to be Viktor Sams. Towards the end, when Leila thought that Katherine was Viktor Sams, she was found dead in the pool by Anna.
Likely, another one of Viktor’s agents from the ship’s staff (similar to Winnie) was involved in Katherine’s killing. But we should wait for episodes 9 & 10 to confirm that.
Is Lawrence Collier Viktor Sams?
Lawrence Collier doesn’t seem to be Viktor Sams. However, he was directly involved in Kira Scott’s death at the hands of Viktor.
Lawrence revealed that he made a call to have Kira Scott killed. This was because she was about to blow the whistle on the Colliers and their involvement in Captionem Blue. So, his call would have connected him to Viktor Sams, who is yet to be revealed.
Almost every possible candidate to be Viktor is either dead or ruled out. So, it’s likely that a new actor will come in as Viktor Sams in the last two episodes.
